Check this out: the Cooper Hewitt Museum has put together this amazing video Design Dictionary. It looks like a work in progress, but they’ve already got Papermaking in the dictionary!  They filmed this segment at Dieu Donné Papermill in NYC.

Abecedarian is a wonderful gallery dedicated to book arts located in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District. Pulp Mastery is the current show featuring the work of Mary Ellen Long and Melissa Jay Craig. Take a look at the on-line catalog to view and purchase artists’ books by many other book and paper artists.

I hope to stumble across some of this origami street art by Mademoiselle Maurice. Be sure to click the link to view all of the images.

Have you heard about Step Forward Paper? It is a Canadian company with a mission to make high-quality paper using agricultural waste from farmer’s fields. And they are doing it on a large scale.

About The Sunday Paper: They keep saying that paper will become obsolete, yet artists, craftspeople, designers and creatives are keeping it alive and well. A healthy number of people are even making paper by hand (in some cultures they are still using age-old traditions). How cool is that? The Sunday PAPER is a resource for ideas and inspiration, all having to do with this amazing material. Each Sunday, starting with this edition, I’ll bring you stories and examples of people doing exciting, innovative, and beautiful things with paper, as well as links to interesting paperfacts I’ve unearthed from around the globe. I hope you’ll enjoy reading this paper, Papier, papel, хартия, Papir,紙, Papper, פּאַפּיר… and don’t hesitate to click on the link to leave your comments and suggestions!

Ohhhh, I LOVE the Sunday Paper (Helen Hiebert style!!) and will look forward to future editions! This one was full of GOOD stuff! Mimi
P.S. Step Forward Paper is the Canadian company that Woody Harrelson helped get started and the one from which the samples of their wheat paper were distributed at the previous FDH conference in St. Louis (100 paks of their excellent paper was sent to me for the conference in conjunction with my talk “Tree Free Papers:Coming to a Store Near You” that I was unable to present ultimately…)
