Paper Moon & Paper Star

This is Day 20 of 25 Days of Paper and Day 89 of my 100 x 100 Paper Weavings Project.

This is one of my favorite weavings! I find it so interesting how these weavings develop. I have to admit that I wasn’t terribly excited about the possibilities when I began this one. I chose the two papers, which I think work together nicely. But then what? I was thinking of ovals prior to choosing the papers, so I cut Cave Paper’s Layered Indigo Day into an oval. The floral paper (from Two Hands Paperie) was smaller and the size dictated that oval. Then I played around with the layout and came up with this. I think I would enjoy moon travel.
Speaking of the moon and thinking of the sky, I love these magic window stars (one of the projects in my book, Playing With Paper). They are quite simple to make, and the variations are endless.
I found this image on-line (i.e. I didn’t make these), but can you see the possibilities? Wow! Attaching them to a window just brings them to life. Have you worked with kite paper? It is just like waxed paper, but it comes in colors and folds just like origami paper.
There are so many paper star projects (there could be a book). Just google paper star images and start creating.
Do you have any favorite books on folding paper?
