Cut Paper
This is Day 19 of 25 Days of Paper and Day 88 of my 100 x 100 Paper Weavings Project.
This is a sheet of Tom Leech’s marbled paper woven with strips of a lace paper from Hiromi Paper.
All of this cutting of paper has me thinking about Elsa Mora, who runs several blogs that will entertain you for hours (watch out!). Her All About Papercutting is a how-to blog filled with patterns, supplies and her own artwork.
Art is a Way is her blog where she posts beautiful images of her work and the work of others.
And take a peak at her Etsy site, where you can view and purchase more of her work.
Papercutting is a craft that has a long history in many countries, and there are many books on the subject. Do you have a favorite one that you would recommend?

My favorite book of papercut examples is the catalog from the exhibition, “Slash: Paper Under the Knife,” from MAD. You can see some examples of the exhibition and follow a link to order it here: http://collections.madmuseum.org/html/exhibitions/485.html
