A Butterfly Book

A Butterfly Book

IMG_6350

The template for this butterfly book is available if you subscribe to my newsletter. Thanks to those of you who already do! I do enjoy designing paper projects like this and plan to change the template download quarterly. If you are a newsletter subscriber, you’ll receive each new template as they are released.

Notice that the pages in the center are book shaped and transform into butterfly wings as they reach the outer edges – a metamorphosis in paper! I made this butterfly from elephant hide  paper (available from Talas in Brooklyn, NY). It has a lovely smooth surface and I like the way that it folds and drapes.

You can create a butterfly book in less than 30 minutes, and I can only imagine how it would look in a decorative paper. Please send me a picture if you try it out!
