The Sunday Paper, 1 (11),
This week’s Sunday paper is coming to you from Landau, Germany where I am currently visiting friends.
Yulia Brodskaya has a unique style of drawing with paper. She creates artwork and illustrations for international clients.
Check out some of the 50 Book Benches which are popping up around the UK.
Sarah Brayer created some amazing paperworks at Dieu Donné back in the 1990’s when I worked there. She lives in Kyoto, Japan and produces large paperworks at Echizen. Take a look at this amazing work that glows.
I’ve seen the work of designers Zim & Zou over the years. They recently did this window display for the Hermès store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, Spain, featuring a hand made leather fox living inside a room full of furniture and household objects all made of paper.
I was recently featured on May Babcock’s blog Paperslurry: Behind the Mind of Papermaking Artist & Author Helen Hiebert. This is another great paper blog, focusing on papermaking, especially for the beginner.

About The Sunday Paper: They keep saying that paper will become obsolete, yet artists, craftspeople, designers and creatives are keeping it alive and well. A healthy number of people are even making paper by hand (in some cultures they are still using age-old traditions). How cool is that? The Sunday PAPER is a resource for ideas and inspiration, all having to do with this amazing material. Each Sunday, starting with this edition, I’ll bring you stories and examples of people doing exciting, innovative, and beautiful things with paper, as well as links to interesting paperfacts I’ve unearthed from around the globe. I hope you’ll enjoy reading this paper, Papier, papel, хартия, Papir,紙, Papper, פּאַפּיר… and don’t hesitate to click on the link to leave your comments and suggestions!

I would love to own one of the book benches, but I suspect that the shipping costs would wipe out my entire life savings. I wonder if Mindell Dubansky is considering acquiring one for her ‘blook’ collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art?!
Thanks Helen, for keeping me in touch with the rest of the paper and art world. We are out of the mainstream in Hawaii,so I just LOVE the Sunday Paper! Aloha,Allison
