I looked up quotes about the word journey and found this one that resonated, particularly for me and this project.

“When we are sure that we are on the right road there is no need to plan our journey too far ahead. No need to burden ourselves with doubts and fears as to the obstacles that may bar our progress. We cannot take more than one step at a time.”

Orison Swett Marden

I like to know what lies ahead, but it is good for me to step out of my comfort zone. This project has forced me to do this in several ways, including doing things at the last minute! Believe it or not, I made almost all of the 100 weavings on the day that I posted them, including today. If you are receiving this note in your in box, it later than usual. I didn’t feel like making it last night and I had to ski all day (yes, I had to because I volunteer at the Beaver Creek on Tuesdays). So, when I got home about an hour ago, I picked out my papers and created this weaving.

I see cairns (and snowboards) in this combination of a Hark! Handmade Paper and a decorative sheet I purchased at Two Hands Paperie.

Wishing each and every one of you a joyous 2014. It has been a pleasure sharing this journey with you, and I look forward to continuing to cross paths with you. May we all stack our cairns high!
