Japanese Coin Pouch

These sweet coin pouches or pouches for small collectibles measure 2 1/2 inch square. They are folded from large sheets of handmade kozo (mulberry) paper. Patterns are applied to large sheets with a stencil-resist technique called “katazome” using the original stencils by renowned artist Keisuke Serizawa (b.1895-1984).  After the katazome process, the paper is starched with konnyaku (devil’s root starch) to make it leather-like and then folded into this moveable origami shape. These coin purses are imported by Paper Connection International, LLC.

These come in a variety of colors and patterns and yours will be chosen at random.

There are five colors available in limited quantities and you will receive a random color.
