This catalog is being published on the occasion of the exhibition of The Secret Life of Paper: 25 Years of Works in Paper by Helen Hiebert, a retrospective at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center and the Waldo Library at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan in April 2016. The catalog contains an illustrated chronology of Hiebert’s art and career over the past 25 years; an interpretive essay by Melissa Potter, Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Book & Paper Arts, Columbia College, Chicago; full-color images and text about Hiebert’s experimental paper works, installations, and artist’s books, as well as a glimpse into her studio and practice. The page size is 8-1/2″ x 11″ and each copy is hand bound and features a pulp stenciled handmade paper cover by the artist.

Deluxe Version ($75) features a handmade stenciled cotton cover (above, left) and an original string drawing (above, right) in the center of the catalog.
